The “Tumble” Chairs

Thin. Flimsy. Wobbly. These are adjective I often like in things or even plants. These chairs are light tubular stainless steel sections imitating a stretching back or a crooked branch leaning to one side. These chairs are one of my favourite designs and they are filled with charisma! There are two variations available, the wider and lower armchair and the armless chair with a taller support for the back. Write to contact@kilzi.es for more info.

The "Hat" Lamp

The “hat” lamp has a volcano shaped top piece in opaque teak wood, with a small opening at the tip. The light runs down to the lower part of the piece creating a floating illusion. This again moving shape is composed of a crooked axis cylinder and a non symmetrical lathed section. Possible variations in materials are oak, cherry and meranti wood (bespoke pieces will come at a charge).

These pieces cherish tradition and craftsmanship all while using a contemporary and relaxed language.

The "Mush" Lamps

This lamps are bound to be the staple of this young design project. Their friendliness and lightness are contagious and and I do wish you see them as a pet or a friend. They are always changing with the daylight and their light is subtle and diffused, very soothing and calming. We have developed two finishes, one resembling “bone” and another with organic fibres resembling Japanese “paper”.

The structure is built in polished stainless steel with removable parts for a more compact disassembled occupancy. The two shades, upper and lower are made of the same thickness organic resins and fibreglass.

The “Family” Jugs

These porcelain pieces have a soul, a personality, a character that goes beyond any planning or depart ideas. Once the jugs were shaped, I saw a clear attitude in each of them independently: one was a savvy, elegant and patient “mum” (a), one was the clumsy, chubby, good-hearted “dad” (b) and the smallest was the mischievous and inquisitive “kid” (c).

These are refined porcelain with a matte finish on the outside, and transparent shiny glaze on the inside.

The “Y” Chair

The name “Y” stands for the way the rear legs and the back support are placed. This simple chair leans forward in a flexible and articulated way, in a bit of a childish attitude and imitates some wooden toys and children’s sketches. When turned around it can also be used as a little horse.

This simplicity and naivety of the less-practical, in a world of constant pressures towards perfection and performance is a way of communicating peace and equilibrium. Technically having three pieces meet at the seat was a challenge that remains concealed inside the wooden structure, using metallic pieces to add sturdiness. The back support is meant for the lower back and as a handle.
